Program Overview
Road Worthy NEO is dedicated to removing transportation barriers for professionals entering the workforce in Northeast Ohio. This program provides eligible candidates with a vehicle award using a 0% interest loan with HFLA of Northeast Ohio to purchase a reliable vehicle at a significantly reduced cost, paired with the support necessary to maintain it. All vehicles provided through this program have been reviewed by a certified auto technician and selected for their ability to offer a long life and low-cost maintenance for at least 2 years.
Eligibility
This program is open to any individual age 18 or older who has completed an eligible workforce training program (Manufacturing, Trades, or Auto Maintenance & Repair) and needs support with transportation in order to begin or sustain employment. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age at the time of application. Applicants must have a secured job offer with a confirmed start date in a field aligned with their career technical training. We will also consider people currently employed in their field of study for 2 years or less.
How the Program Works

- Step 2: Instructor or employer sent a link and asked to provide a recommendation
- Step 3: Application vetting & evaluation
- Step 4: Applicant notified if a vehicle is awarded
- Step 5: HFLA of Northeast Ohio’s zero-interest loan application, review and approval
- Step 6: Insurance verification & vehicle release
Vehicle Awards
Vehicle awards are subject to program availability. Please note that Road Worthy is not a traditional vehicle dealership; candidates do not select a specific make or model. Instead, we acquire vehicles through donations and direct procurement, then perform necessary maintenance to ensure every car meets our quality and safety standards. Our goal is to provide reliable transportation capable of providing at least two years of service with minimal upkeep.
Key Program Terms
- Age Requirement: Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
- Secured Employment: Applicants must have a secured job offer with a confirmed start date in a field related to their career technical training (Manufacturing, Trades, or Auto Maintenance & Repair). Applications without a verified job offer and start date will not be considered.
- 0% Interest Financing Commitment: If selected, participants agree to purchase the vehicle using an HFLA of Northeast Ohio 0% interest loan with payments of $100 per month for 24 months.
- Licensing & Insurance: A valid driver's license and proof of insurance are required before the vehicle award is finalized.
Process
1. Register
Click on the "Register" link and complete and submit the registration form.
2. Login
Login to the system with your email and password.
3. Create
Create your online application.
4. Save
During the Call for Applications period, your application can be saved as DRAFT until all the required information is completed and attachments uploaded. As each section is complete, you will see a 
appear in the category tab when the application is saved. At any time, you can download and print your application by clicking on the 
icon in the Application Summary section.
5. Submit
On completion, save your Application as FINAL. Download and print a copy of your application for your records by clicking on the icon in the Application Summary section in the right column. Note: If an update is required prior to the Call for Applications period, you can make the update and resave as FINAL.
